AMIQT NEUROSCIENCE TRACT

Comprehensive Neurology Rotation

  • Hands on clinical experience

  • Perform history taking and physical examination

  • Familiarize with electronic medical records (EMR). Write reports in EMR.

  • Discussion with an expert preceptor about patient care

  • Weekly Neurology grand rounds at George Washington University Hospital. Interact with Neurology faculty and residents.

  • Round with Dr. Bernad in the hospital

  • Observer and familiarize with following procedures: EEG, EMG, Sudoscan, Polysmnography, and Acupuncture

  • Opportunity to do presentations with valuable feedback from preceptor. Practicing presentations is a great asset for residency.

  • Opportunity to publish case reports

  • Gain insight and helpful advice to optimize residency application and match.

  • Merit based letters of recommendation

Dr. Peter Bernad is a neurologist in the Washington, DC metropolitan region and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including George Washington University Hospital and Inova Alexandria Hospital. He received his medical degree from McGill University Faculty of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 35 years. He is one of 34 doctors at George Washington University Hospital and one of 18 at Inova Alexandria Hospital who specialize in Neurology.
